Red taping

As soon as you step out of holiday mode in Greece, you discover an unknown phenomenon: the Greek black hole of oblivion. It mercilessly and without warning swallows up issues, deadlines, commitments, arrangements, yes, sometimes whole people. One day a lawyer writes a letter with dozens of exclamations intended to emphasize the importance and finality of our demands, the next day the subject disappears from the face of the earth; in six months’ time, perhaps he will ask, how is your dispute with your neighbor? Are you opening a bank account? Be sure to get a lawyer, but remind him twice a week that he’s handling your case, because it’s been in the black hole for a long time and the lawyer simply doesn’t remember. When you ask something important and do not get an answer, consider the possibility that you will never get that answer, even by asking the same question ten more times.

Not sure, whether it’s rather red tape or busy work. Or maybe both.
