Roof and some more brutalism | week #79

Carpenters are doing their work, so the roof is taking its final shape. Engineer convinced us to use hard polystyrene instead of mineral wool. It has worse acoustic and fire resistance properties, but it’s better in humid environment, so it doesn’t accumulate water. It would also be a worse place for wild bees.

The final concrete pours have been made on the pool’s supporting structure. After removing the formwork, an ugly space of concrete and steel bars was revealed. It’s so hard to imagine that there will be a decent pool with blue water, with the shade of an olive tree in the corner, and people sipping lemonade, gazing at the blue horizon melting with the mountains in the distance.
