Meraki Atomic Shelter | #week 30

Given the increasing tension in the region, in Europe and in the world, we decided to build a nuclear shelter. That, at least, is how it looks. The whole concrete will be covered by soil. Just joking. The whole thing is redesigned watertank (divided into 2 parts: rain and potable water) and machine/storage room in the Continue reading

All the world is green

Of Corfu’s many qualities, greenness seems to be absolutely unique. Thanks to the humid microclimate created inbetween of the high mountains of Epirus and the warm Ionian Sea, the whole island is extremely green all year round. Thanks to the fact that it resisted the Turkish invasion, it has preserved its forests and has not shared Continue reading

Noah’s Ark | #week 26

It’s a half year from the beginning of the construction. What we see now looks more like Noah’s ark than a watertank. Anyway, underground pool will be bigger than the outside one. Like we all are. Continue reading

Dig dug | #week 20

The excavation for the first level of the house appears to be monstrous. From the photos, it is difficult for us to even grasp the entire construction site with our thoughts. But the most important thing is that the work has started. In addition to the construction work, we have also decided to trim the Continue reading

Mud | #week 19

Levelling of the ground floor is delayed because of mud. Weather isn’t best last days, so trucks can’t go down the plot. We are waiting also for trimming of olives on the plot, since these have been neglected for years. Nevertheless, it’s less than 4 weeks till our next visit! Continue reading

No clear mind
No Clear Mind, formed a decade ago in Chania, is one of our favourite music bands. Very underrated, barely known outside of Greece, though moving, deep, calm. After short visit in Corfu, we are missing spring. Continue reading

ελιά | #week 17

The construction of the house begins with the destruction of an olive tree that is more than a century old.It is so sad that let the pictures speak. Continue reading
